Lazy Sundays & Late Nights
These are the times, where you can put on a record or your favourite album, stare at a painting or sink your toes into the sand (so to speak). Or, that’s how i like to picture my relaxed state of mind. I’ve been searching the net, and sharing thoughts with friends to compile a nice set of favourite videos for this month and for some to follow. Nothing to out of your regular mode of thought, but I will share something small and quite special to help you pass those flickered minutes in your basement or wherever it is you spend time for you and yours. Beats, Rhymes & Life
Music for me comes in all forms and shapes. It is the transportation of sound in which it communicates with my mind, body or soul, whether it be simple or complex. I have taken a vast fascination in improvisational jazz, where sounds can bounce off walls and yet still find a stream or balance to control a certain mood or create a particular ambiance. It is this ambience from jazz, where i find myself truly still. However, there are many genres and shades of music which all communicate to a diverse effect. From my personal experience, the interaction of different music has foreseen the changes in my life. Music plays according to the maturity of my taste buds. With age, there is more exposure, and life-changing experiences so you can expect to understand more. Rock and Roll and the ages of Blues, Funk and Soul have all influenced my knowledge of music for the likes of early hip hop and now Indie Rock where I have seen figures working across the spectrum of contemporary music, from guitar driven rock to film scores and electronica. My passion is in the core of the underground where cultural tribes and characters have inspired me with their dedication and love for music. Music is a state of art and a passion which is now corrupted by the old man’s dollar and greed, so I turn to the originators and the faithful musicians who pride themselves as creators, poets, writers and founders of my life-long passion.
